"I laughed, I cried, it moved me Bob" is one of my favorite quotes from Veggie Tales. (shhh... a little secret about me is that I LOVE these movies and own a few of them. In High School I would get them for Christmas.)
Anyhow, I had a laugh... cry moment last night... Anyone read this book? The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck?
So last night we were out playing some games with some friends of ours and I left early to get the little one to bed. Jeremy stayed to finish up the game and then played a few more (I told him to take his time since I had lots of stuff to get done). After playing games and helping a lady change a tire on her car he got home after 11pm. As soon as he got home later than expected.... I let out a "You owe me Jeremy!!!" Then it was,"ok ok ok I'll read the book with you."
Jeremy and I have been reading this book together. Taking turns reading out loud. It has been such a great bonding experience and we have both been loving it. Last night we continued with where we left off. We were just a few pages away from a new chapter. Not enough to satisfy me for the night so I begged for another chapter. The next chapter had us Rolling! Literally! I was laughing SOOO hard that tears were streaming down my face. We couldn't get over what a crack up the little boy's Grandpa was. Well, the chapter ends leaving you extremely curious about the next chapter. I decided I would let the anticipation run it's course and leave it for the next night... Well, we started talking a little about how much we love the book and....
JEREMY SLIPPED!!! He told me that on the radio the author was telling about how bla bla bla bla bla!
I didn't know what was going to happen in the next chapter but Jeremy gave it away. He already knew! I hate to say this but I then burst into tears!!! I quickly tried to hide it because I knew it was late. I ducked under the covers and Jeremy said, "Jo are you crying??" he kept trying to peek in at me and I was trying my hardest to push the tears back. I have never been so moved by a book!!! We were up till after 1am talking since I couldn't calm down and just go to sleep. I had too much weighing on my mind and that was just the trigger. Anyhow, even though I have yet to finish reading the book it is now my FAVORITE!!!! That's right my FAVORITE! If you haven't read it... I'm not going to spoil any surprises so go get it and read it!!! This book isn't leaving my house! I'm going to go buy another one to pass around to others to read. Maybe I'll make a tradition of reading it every Christmas... I'm only half way through! We will see what happens! So far I love it... love it... love it...

My computer is not pulling up the picture...so what book is it?
I have heard a lot about this book. I think it is going to be my next book.
I got your sweet note and it made my day! I am grateful I was able to be your wedding photographer because I really feel like I got to know you better than the rest of my family did. You and Jeremy were so fun to shoot! Your personalities really shined in the pictures. And now you're a great photographer! I love looking at the pictures you take. Even pictures of books.
Don't feel bad...I watched Veggie Tales in high school too!
Also, I TOTALLY know how you feel! back in high school I was reading "Lord of the Rings" (which are huge books) and I had worked for about a year on these things and I was a tiny little fraction away from the end when this guy in my youth group told me how it ended...just to be mean. I could've clawed his eyes out!
I think my son-in-law got that book for Christmas! MAYBE he'll let me borrow it! ;)
I bought this book yesterday (because of Jo's review}while I was at Sam's Club and finished it this afternoon. Very good book - I just love Christmas stories. I also got "The Last Lecture" will start that in a few days, I am reading another Christmas story first. Thanks for the great reviews!!
Hey Jo! I know it's a few months away but I'm graduating in May and I was just wondering if I need to ask you now if you could schedule me sometime in May to take some graduation pics?
Reading with your husband is a great idea! We've done that toegether. It's such a great alternative to watching a movie. I'm definitely going to read this. Love the photo, too.
