Welcome Home!

I'm trying to catch up on pictures I've taken and so these are from a couple weeks ago but I thought I would share. A good friend of mines husband is in the Marines and has been serving our country in Africa. Emma and I went to go welcome him home and get some pictures. It was a really neat experience to see him come home to his wife and see his baby girl for the first time. I can't say thanks enough to those who are out serving our country! They are truly amazing and I admire all that they sacrifice. Thanks!
The American flag means a lot to me. I can't look at it and not feel extremely grateful for the country that we live in and for the freedoms that we have.

It also makes me think of one of my favorite songs:

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

While we were waiting it was hard to keep EmmaLee in one spot. She sat on my camera bag for a little bit but as soon as I would look away she was running across the parking lot!

You did a really nice job with the pictures and capturing the emotions. It makes one appreciate the sacrifice that is being made to make our country free. I give my deepest thanks to those who sacrifice to serve our country. Not only for those who serve, but also to the wives, children and parents who sacrifice so much in their support.
