Happy Birthday EmmaLee!

One year ago today my little girl was born. I can't believe how fast a year can go by. I was just looking back on some of the pictures that were taken soon after she was born. It makes me want to cry looking back on how much life has changed. I wish I could hold her as a newborn now without the pain and without the flood of postpartum emotions. I wish I could go back in time and hold her with the love that I have for her now since it has only grown since she came into the world. I wish I could freeze time so I can have more time with her. I wish I was a better mom but I hope that I have at least been what she needs me to be. I love my little girl. She is who I lived for growing up. Making the best decisions I could so that when I brought her into the world she would have someone to look up to. I just want you to all know how much being a mom means to me. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love my EmmaLee. I'm not ready for her to be a year old but I can't hold back time... Happy Birthday Tiny!

A photo for the day

On Monday I took some corporate headshots for the father of one of my good friends. I was also able to sneek in a couple pictures of him and his wife. We went outside and since it was about noon it was almost imposible to find some good shade. I'm glad that we found this little spot. They look so good together. I seriously think she is so beautiful! They have such a great family and I'm excited to be taking their families pictures in October.

If you dare dinner

Last week my hubby and I went to my brothers house for an if you dare dinner. I had never heard of it before and it was super fun. A few people brought and made different things so we had tons of variety. I'm sure they thought I was odd for taking lots of pictures but I couldn't help it.
First we have a meal from Africa. What you do is wet your hands in the bowl of water and then grab a small portion of the dough. You roll it in a ball, dip it in the sauce and then swallow it whole. I wasn't brave enough to try this but I heard it wasn't too bad.

One of my brother's roommates is a chef and he made some cury soup. I did eat this but only because it was on rice. :)

He also made some poched crab. It was sad to watch... They put them in the pan ALIVE!! (Sorry to any vegitarians...) When they did it I couldn't help but to think of the little mermaid. "It must be hot in that big silver pot." I think that's how the quote went.

This first soda is from Japan. The top has a marble in it that you pop down. It rolls back into the hole when you drink so you don't drink too much. It's pretty fun! This next drink is from Jamaca but they drink it in alot of different places. My husband fell in love with it in Venezuala. I think it's gross.
This nasty looking stuff comes from Japan. It's fremented beans... MMMmmm. It comes out nice and stringy.

They put raw egg in it and some other stuff (I can't remember) and eat it. Sorry I wasn't brave enough to try this either. I'm glad that I was never offered this in Japan since there I wouldn't have been able to turn it down.

Pot stickers are always good. Mmmmm....

This fruit is found in Asia. I had it in China a couple times. You peel off the outter shell and eat the white fruit inside. It's pretty good but it was too much work for me to eat any more than one. In china they would sell it on the streets but they would peel the outside for you.

Korean Ramen. This is one of my favorite things to eat. I had it ALL the time in High School and when I lived in China. It's SUPER hott but you get use to it and learn to LOVE it.

And thank goodness someone had brought over cookies because they were SOOO good. I munched on a few of these. They were most of my dinner. lol.
